I have delivered a number of interactive road safety presentations within schools and am able to deliver these to all age groups, from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4 and beyond.  I have undergone an enhanced CRB check.

My approach to road safety education fits in with the Government's "Every Child Matters" initiative.  All children whatever their background or circumstances should receive the education and support they need to be adequately prepared for life.  Although all 5 aims are relevant, I believe the second aim "Stay Safe" is most relevant to what I do.

All organisations involved in providing services to children, are teaming up to help achieve these aims and objectives and I believe I can help schools to fulfil their obligations in this regard.

My approach will also compliment the existing curriculum for children.

Children can easily get bored and my approach engages all pupils to be involved in any sessions I deliver.

Key Stage 1

Basic Road Safety features highly here and a few simple exercises to involve the children take place.

Key Stage 2

I can deliver a 1 hour fully interactive road safety discussion with the children.  This will include activities which will involve the children.  We will engage in a simple debate about a number of issues and my main aim here is to prepare the children for the transition to High School.  This includes a practical demonstration.

Key Stage 3

Statistically, Key Stage 3 pupils are most at risk when using our roads.  Whether it be distractions, a change in their environment or greater independence, we will explore these areas to help make them safer and more responsible road users.  Where possible this will include a practical demonstration.

Key Stage 4

Now we are getting towards becoming young adults, the aim here is to help them grow into becoming responsible young adults.  We will engage in a healthy debate about a number of road issues and explore what causes crashes and the consequences facing those involved in one.  Where possible this will include a practical demonstration.

Beyond Key Stage 4
Have a look at my Pre-driver training page for what is available.  Much of this depends on what off road facilities are available at the venue.
