Private Hire Training
To become a Private Hire Driver in Leeds, you need to pass the "Private Hire Driving Test". Once you have passed this test all councils will accept this certificate should you wish to operate as a private hire driver.

To pass the private hire test, you must drive for around 40 minutes and commit no more than 9 driver errors. You must not commit any serious or dangerous faults as anyone of these will result in a test failure.
You will be assessed as an experienced driver and expected to drive as such. During the driving test in addition to your driving ability, you will assessed as if you were carrying passengers. For example when you are asked to pull up you should pull up in a suitable location to pick up or set down passengers.
